Newcastle United Under-18s suffered their first away defeat in 2025 following a 5-3 loss against Stoke City in the Under-18 Premier League North on Saturday.

United's youngsters conceded twice in the first half at the Clayton Wood Training Ground following Charlie Wood's brace before quick-fire strikes from Joe Brayson and Matheos Ferreira drew the young Magpies level.

Newcastle, however, fell behind for a second time following Ryan Liu's effort for the hosts and despite Alex O'Donovan restoring parity in swift fashion, goals from Pedro Nzau and Lewis Bailey, the latter netting from the penalty spot in the final minutes, proved the difference.

Newcastle United Under-18s: Adam Harrison, Guy Bloomer, Henry Johnson, Jake Durrant, Jude Cogdon, Sam Alabi, Matthew Taylor (Baran Yıldız 85), Kyle Fitzgerald, Matheos Ferreira, Alex O'Donovan (Kayden Lucas 85), Joe Brayson (Kacey Wooster 63).
