The 19-year-old – who scored on his debut for his country in their 1-0 win over the Central American outfit last week – started up front for Denmark as they rounded off their training camp in Mexico City.
And just as in last Wednesday’s fixture between the two sides, when the Magpies youngster netted within three minutes of coming off the bench, Sørensen took little time to make an impact, scoring once more barely two minutes into the contest.
His early strike was cancelled out ten minutes later, before a Mexico penalty soon after sealed victory for the hosts.
Sørensen – the youngest player in Denmark’s under-21 side – will hope his impressive start to his international career will have brought him into contention for this summer’s European Under-21 Championships.
He will now return to Tyneside, where his 19 goals so far this term have helped United’s second string into fourth place in Premier League 2 Division Two.
