Lascelles has played more Premier League minutes for the Magpies than any other player this term, despite missing almost a month with a foot injury between November and December.

The 24-year-old joined United from Nottingham Forest in August 2014, before returning to the City Ground for the remainder of the campaign. He made his Newcastle bow 12 months later, against Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.

After scoring his first goal for the club against Watford in January 2016, Lascelles was handed the captain’s armband by Rafa Benítez ahead of last year’s Sky Bet Championship-winning campaign.

This time out, he has impressed once more in the heart of United’s backline, helping the Magpies make sure of their Premier League status with room to spare.

Should he bring up his century against the Baggies, he will become just the third member of Newcastle’s current squad to hit the milestone, behind Paul Dummett and Ayoze Pérez.
