Newcastle United midfielder Mo Sangare has been included in the Liberia squad for their three friendlies this month.

The 23-year-old will link up with Peter Butler’s side for a triple-header in Antalya, Turkey, which could see the former Accrington Stanley loanee add to his tally of five senior caps for his country.

The Lone Star face Benin on Thursday, 24th March, Sierra Leone on Sunday, 27th March and Burundi on Tuesday, 29th March.

Sangare has made four appearances for the Magpies’ under-23 side so far this term and is now set to link up with former West Brom defender Butler and his side, who finished third in their 2022 World Cup qualifying group and consequently failed to make it through to the knockout stage ahead of the tournament later this year.

He currently has one goal to his name for Liberia, which came in a 3-1 World Cup qualifying win over Sierra Leone in April 2019.
