The game will be shown live on Sky Sports and as a result, will move to Sunday, 15th August with a 2pm (BST) kick-off.
Newcastle completed a fine double over the Hammers last term, winning 2-0 at the London Stadium on the opening day before a thrilling 3-2 victory at St. James' Park in April.
Unlike last season, not all Premier League games will be shown live next term, with supporters anticipated to be back in stadiums.
That means that the matches against Aston Villa (away) and Southampton (home) will remain on Saturday, 21st August and Saturday, 28th August respectively, with both kicking off at 3pm (BST).
The Premier League have also announced that, due to Leicester City's involvement in the Europa League, Newcastle's away game against the Foxes on Saturday, 11th December is likely to be affected.
Confirmation of the final date and kick-off time will be confirmed when the broadcast selections for December are released.
