Newcastle United Women have won the League Managers Association's Performance of the Week award following their Tyne-Wear derby victory against Sunderland Women last weekend.

Substitute Shania Hayles scored the only goal of the game in front of a league-record 38,502 at St. James' Park on Sunday as the Lasses completed a Women's Championship double over their local rivals.

Head coach Becky Langley was presented with the Utilita Performance of the Week award on Friday. Nominations for the award include Premier League, EFL Championship, EFL League One, EFL League Two, Women's Super League and Women's Championship fixtures.

And the League Managers Association (LMA)'s panel, comprising LMA Chairman Martin O’Neill OBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Chris Hughton, Rachel Yankey OBE, Les Ferdinand MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Jess Creighton, Stuart Pearce MBE, and Barry Fry determined that the award should go to Langley and her team.

United's women are at home to London City Lionesses on Sunday. Kick-off at Kingston Park is at 2pm BST and tickets are on sale here.
