Newcastle United Women have started pre-season preparations ahead of the 2023/24 season

The Magpies returned to training last week and, before Becky Langley's side begin their FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division campaign, they have lined up a series of friendlies.

Local rivals Durham Cestria and Sunderland Women are among the opponents that await the Magpies, as well as Newcastle Women's clash with West Bromwich Albion Women at St. James' Park, which is part of the first-ever Sela Cup, presented by VisitMalta.

Langley's side will play Cestria, who they edged to the FAWNL Division One North title last term, in a behind-closed-doors match to kick off the run of six pre-season fixtures.

Following this, the Magpies make the short trip to Norton & Stockton Ancients Ladies before a trip up to Scotland to take on Edinburgh-based outfit Hibernian Women.

The showpiece St. James' Park match against West Brom is next up for Newcastle Women, with the game a fourth opportunity for Langley's team to play at the 'cathedral on the hill'.

United's penultimate pre-season fixture is away at Sunderland, before the Magpies host Leeds United Women at Kingston Park before the start of the new term.

Details of ticketing for each of the matches will be posted across Newcastle United Women's social media channels.
