Yankuba Minteh has been named in Gambia's 27-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The 19-year-old forward, who joined the Magpies from Danish outfit Odense Boldklub last summer before immediately joining Eredivisie side Feyenoord on a season-long loan for the duration of the 2023/24 season, has recorded four goals and two assists for the Dutch giants so far this term.

The teenage winger was named amongst Gambia's 43-man squad for pre-tournament training with the Scorpions before being named in Tom Saintfiet's squad for the upcoming finals in the Ivory Coast.

Gambia kick off their Group C campaign against defending champions Senegal on Monday, 15th January (kick-off 2pm GMT) before facing Guinea on Friday, 19th January (kick-off 8pm GMT) and five-time champions Cameroon on Tuesday, 23rd January (kick-off 5pm GMT).

Minteh completed a memorable senior international debut in September 2022 against Congo, scoring on his maiden bow as Gambia recovered from a two-goal deficit to secure a 2-2 draw, resulting in qualification for this year's finals.
