Supporters attending Sunday’s Premier League fixture with Arsenal will face disruption on the Tyne & Wear Metro system due to engineering work.

Nexus has confirmed that there will be no Metro service between South Gosforth and Heworth all day on Sunday 15th April while essential signalling modernisation work is carried out.

The route includes key city centre stops such as Haymarket, Monument and Central Station, though services will still operate through Monument and St. James’ stations to and from the coast.

Newcastle United v Arsenal gets under way at 1:30pm (BST) and all tickets are sold out.

Replacement bus service

A replacement bus service (number 900) will be in operation, calling at – or close to – all affected stations.

A list of calling points for the number 900 can be found here.

Metro tickets and passes will be valid on the bus service and the driver will sell tickets.

Supporters are advised to plan their journey carefully and to allow extra time to get to and from the city centre.
