Stuart Attwell will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League clash at Everton on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 12.30pm).

The Magpies travel to Goodison Park aiming to end a run of nine league games without a win and this will be the third time the Warwickshire-born official has taken charge of a fixture involving Steve Bruce's side this term.

The 38-year-old was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 2-0 win at West Ham United on the opening day of the season and handed out four yellow cards that evening, booking Javier Manquillo and Isaac Hayden.

Promoted to the Select Group of Referees in 2016, Atwell was the referee for Newcastle's reverse fixture against the Toffees - a 2-1 win at St. James' Park in November - and awarded a penalty to the hosts, which was converted by Callum Wilson. Attwell booked six players that day, including Wilson and Jacob Murphy.

In the 16 games officiated across the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, he has shown a total of 64 yellow cards and has shown a red in the English-top flight this term, sending off Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk in the Seagull's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

On Saturday, Attwell will be assisted by Constantine Hatzidakis and Eddie Smart while Craig Pawson will be the fourth official.

Kevin Friend is the VAR, with Simon Beck acting as Assistant VAR.
