Eddie Howe's side will be aiming to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to six matches when they take on Frank Lampard's side at St. James' Park and this will be the first time Harrington has officiated a game involving Newcastle this term.

Harrington was the man in the middle for the Magpies' 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at St. James' Park in April 2022 and booked two players that evening, including match-winner Miguel Almirón.

Promoted to the Select Group 1 in June 2021, Harrington took charge of his first Premier League game in December 2021 and is yet to show a red card in his opening seven English top-flight fixtures as a referee.

Harrington, grandson of former Hartlepool United forward Tommy McGuigan, spent four years as an assistant referee in the EFL and four years as a National League referee before being appointed to the EFL Referees List in 2012 and had been a Select Group 2 referee since 2016, refereeing nearly 200 EFL matches.
