Darren England will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm GMT).

Eddie Howe's side travel to the capital to face Oliver Glasner's side, currently situated in the relegation zone, at Selhurst Park and this will be the first time England has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies this season.

The Doncaster-born official was the man in the middle for United's 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion last term and handed out seven yellow cards that afternoon, booking Newcastle trio Lewis Hall, Miguel Almirón and Harvey Barnes.

The 38-year-old, a FIFA listed referee since 2022, was also in charge of the Magpies' 1-0 defeat against Luton Town in December 2023 and brandished four yellow cards at Kenilworth Road, booking Hall and Bruno Guimarães.
