Craig Pawson will be the man in the middle for Newcastle United's Premier League clash against Burnley at St. James' Park (kick-off 8pm GMT)

It will be the third game involving the Magpies that the Sheffield-born referee has overseen this term, having taken charge of August's goalless draw at Cardiff City, when he awarded a stoppage time penalty to United, and November's 1-0 victory over Watford - Newcastle's first league win of the season.

Pawson, who was promoted to the panel of Select Group Referees in 2013, made his Premier League officiating debut in United's 1-0 defeat at Swansea City in the same year and has been a referee since 1993.

He was the fourth official for the 2015 League Cup and FA Cup finals. So far this season, the 39-year-old has refereed 27 games across the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Europa League and international level.

Pawson has brandished 105 yellow cards and four red cards - including one for Isaac Hayden against Cardiff. On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Eddie Smart. Lee Mason will be the fourth official.
