United head to the Emirates Stadium looking to make it three Premier League games unbeaten, and Wythenshawe official Taylor will be the man in the middle for the clash in the capital.
The 40-year-old, who has been in the Select Group of Referees since 2010, refereed the Magpies’ 2-1 win over the Gunners at St. James’ Park last season, as well as the 0-0 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
This term, Taylor has taken charge of games in the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, as well as fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League. He has also been appointed for international friendlies and UEFA Nations League matches.
The game at the Emirates will be his 42nd outing of 2018/19 in all, and three of those have been fixtures involving Newcastle – the visits to Manchester United, Burnley and Huddersfield Town. Taylor has dished out 141 yellow cards and seven reds since the start of the season.
He will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn on Monday, while David Coote will be the fourth official.
