The match officials for Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash at Manchester United have been confirmed

Wednesday 1st NovemberManchester United vs Newcastle UnitedOld TraffordKick-off 8:15pm

United head to Old Trafford looking to move past last season's winners of the competition - who beat the Magpies' 2-0 in the final at Wembley back in February - having already seen off the Red Devils' local rivals Manchester City in the third round thanks to Alexander Isak's winner.

And Merseyside official Jones has been appointed for the game, which will be his second match involving Eddie Howe's side this term - he was in charge for Newcastle's 1-0 Premier League defeat at reigning champions City back in August.

It has been a busy start to the campaign for Jones, who has been a top flight official since 2019. So far in 2022/23, he has overseen games in the Premier League, Europa Conference League and also a couple of international fixtures - Austria's 1-1 friendly draw with Moldova in September and Georgia's 4-0 EURO 2024 qualifying win against Cyprus earlier in October.
