Newcastle United supporters will have an opportunity to pay tribute to former chairman Freddy Shepherd on Sunday when the club holds a minute’s applause at St. James’ Park.

Freddy, who was a director of the Magpies from 1992 until 2007, sadly passed away on Monday aged 75.

The minute’s applause will take place just moments before kick-off when the Magpies host Liverpool in the Premier League.

In addition to a minute’s applause, Newcastle United players will wear black armbands and the stadium’s flags will fly at half mast.
