The Magpies - who were narrowly beaten by Southampton in the play-off final last season - will be hoping to challenge for promotion again under new coach Neil Redfearn, and start their campaign at the Royals' Hogwood Park training ground on Monday, 12th August.

Their first home game will be at Whitley Park in Benton against West Ham United on Saturday, 17th August. Whitley Park will again be United's regular home venue, but the games against Sunderland, Manchester United and Swansea City will be played at St. James' Park.

Meanwhile Redfearn's side can look forward to games at Norwich City's Carrow Road and Stoke City's bet365 Stadium.
