Darren Eales and former Magpies favourite Nobby Solano met with Newcastle United fans at the city's Brewhouse Cafe for a live screening of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Leeds United, taking part in a pre-match question and answer session with the CEO giving insights into the ambitions of the club, whilst Solano drew on the nostalgia of his time on Tyneside and why he still loves the Magpies, where he enjoyed two separate spells.
The visit to Atlanta came as part of the club's preparations for the upcoming tour at the end of July, which will see Eddie Howe's men face Premier League opposition across three cities as they visit Philadelphia, Atlanta and New Jersey.
Speaking at the supporter event in Atlanta, Darren Eales commented: "To have over 150 fans come out and support us, early in the morning, in Atlanta is truly special. The passion that we see every week St. James' Park and in Newcastle is echoed around the world and it's incredible to see.
"Football in America has had a rapid growth over the last decade and to see fans here that are from Newcastle and the US is great. We have adopted Geordies across the world and we have the ambition to connect with as many supporter groups as possible.
"Being in Atlanta, seeing the fans ahead of the Premier League Summer Series allows us to engage with our supporters before what will be a brilliant pre-season, both on and off the pitch.
"America is an exciting market for sport and we want to be part of this, bringing Newcastle United to global audiences and making sure that we take our supporters with us during this exciting time for the club."
Throughout the season, Newcastle United have held a number of supporter engagement events, with Darren Eales and senior executives meeting fans at dedicated sessions at St. James' Park, as well as overseas when the team carried out a warm weather training camp in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Supporters can still secure their tickets for the club's pre-season fixtures in the USA, with limited numbers available to purchase online via the Premier League's website here.
