Newcastle United have been drawn against Hull City in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup

Rafa Benitez's side were 6-0 winners over Preston North End on Tuesday night, having beaten Cheltenham Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the competition. And now they face a trip to the KCOM Stadium in the last eight. Hull are currently 18th in the top flight. They have seen off Exeter, Stoke and Bristol City to reach this stage.

United's only previous League Cup meeting with the Tigers came in the third round in 1997/98, when goals from Des Hamilton and Ian Rush gave the Magpies a 2-0 win at St. James' Park.

Newcastle last visited Hull in the Premier League in January 2015, when Remy Cabella, Sammy Ameobi and Yoan Gouffran were on target in a 3-0 win under John Carver.

Ties will be played in the week commencing 28th November 2016.

The full EFL Cup quarter-final draw is:
