United booked their place in the last eight for the first time in 14 years with a 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, courtesy of Miguel Almirón’s brace and Valentino Lazaro’s first goal for the club.
And they will find out which side stands between them and a semi-final berth when the draw is made live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer following the game between Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City.
The match is set to finish at around 9:50pm, but should the game go to extra time and penalties the draw will be pushed back accordingly.
The Magpies – who are one of nine Premier League teams still in the hat after Tuesday’s round of games – will be ball number four in the draw.
Quarter-final ties are to be played on Saturday, 21st March, meaning Newcastle’s league game at home to Aston Villa will be rescheduled.
There are four remaining fifth round clashes still to be played, with the Owls and City facing each other on Wednesday, as well as Birmingham’s trip to Leicester and Tottenham Hotspur’s game against Norwich.
Derby County welcome Manchester United on Thursday, while Newcastle, Sheffield United, Chelsea and Arsenal have already booked their place in the last eight.
