The Magpies return to St. James' Park this weekend when they face Julen Lopetegui's side and this will be the second time Madley has officiated a Premier League fixture involving Newcastle this term.

The 39-year-old referee, promoted to the Select Group 1 Referees list in June 2019, oversaw United's goalless draw at league leaders Arsenal in January and handed out nine yellow cards at the Emirates Stadium, booking Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton, Miguel Almirón and Callum Wilson.

The Huddersfield-born whistler, older brother of fellow Premier League referee Bobby, has already shown three red cards in 17 English top-flight fixtures so far this term, sending off Cristian Romero in Spurs' 1-0 win against Manchester City as well as Crystal Palace duo Tyrick Mitchell and James Tomkins during the Eagles' 3-0 home defeat against Fulham.
