Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has joined League One side Blackpool on a half-season loan deal.

The 19-year-old, who scored in the Magpies Under-23s’ 2-1 friendly win at Darlington on Monday, has linked up with Gary Bowyer’s side and penned a loan deal which will keep him at Bloomfield Road until Saturday, 6th January 2018.

It will be the second time that Longstaff has spent time on loan away from St. James’ Park, having made 17 appearances and scored three goals during a spell with Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock last season.

The Seasiders won promotion from League Two last season, beating Exeter City in the play-off final at Wembley in May.
