Elias Sørensen bagged his fourth goal of the season on Saturday, helping Almere City to a 4-2 win at TOP Oss.

The Newcastle United loanee started on the bench for the Dutch outfit, but was summoned with eight minutes remaining and the score at 3-2 to Sorensen’s side.

And the Danish frontman put the result beyond doubt in added time, firing home to make sure of the points and Almere’s first win in three in the Eerste Divisie.

Sørensen, who has made 14 appearances so far during his time in Holland, is set to stay with De Zwarte Schapen until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, in the Championship, Freddie Woodman endured a difficult afternoon as Swansea City were beaten 4-1 at Huddersfield Town.

The promotion-chasing Swans were thumped at the John Smith’s Stadium, with Duane Holmes’ double and strikes from Fraizer Campbell and Lewis O’Brien finding their way past Woodman, who played the full 90 minutes.

It was a more encouraging weekend for Kell Watts, who helped Plymouth Argyle keep a clean sheet in League One.

The young centre half played the full 90 minutes as his side recorded a shut-out at Rochdale.

And Lewis Cass’ Hartlepool United picked up an important win in the National League, beating Yeovil Town 2-1 to boost their promotion hopes. The Magpies full back played the full game.

It wasn’t a good weekend for Newcastle’s two La Liga loanees, though, with Florian Lejeune’s Alaves suffering a 4-0 defeat at Real Sociedad.

The Frenchman played the full 90, while forward Yoshinori Muto came off the bench with half an hour remaining of Eibar’s 1-0 defeat to Elche.
