How Newcastle United's loan men fared over the weekend, with two players lifting a trophy in Scotland...

Lucas de Bolle and Dylan Stephenson

The young duo, both on loan at Scottish Championship side Hamilton Academical, won the Scottish Challenge Cup final on Sunday as the Accies claimed a 1-0 win against defending champions Raith Rovers.

De Bolle played the full 90 minutes of the cup clash at Falkirk Stadium while Stephenson was an unused substitute as Reghan Tumilty's strike ended the club's 30-year wait for a trophy despite Hamilton playing the final 35 minutes with ten men following Dan O'Reilly's red card.

Joe White

Exeter City claimed an impressive 5-0 win against League One outfit Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon, with White appearing from the bench for the Grecians.

Gary Caldwell's side gained a three-goal lead before White's introduction in the 62nd minute, courtesy of goals from Demetri Mitchell, Joshua Key and Sam Nombe, before further strikes from James Scott and Jay Stansfield added gloss to the scoreline.

Jay Turner-Cooke

Tranmere Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw away at Colchester United on Saturday, with attacking midfielder Turner-Cooke starting on the bench before coming on for the final 18 minutes.

Harvey Saunders opened the scoring for the Super White Army before Noah Chilvers' penalty drew the League Two side level, with Turner-Cooke replacing Josh Hawkes in the latter stages.

Rovers are currently situated in 14th place, two points adrift of a top-half finish.

Niall Brookwell

Darlington were held to a goalless draw away at National League North side Kettering Town, with Brookwell starting the match before being replaced in the 75th minute.

The Quakers currently occupy fifth place in the sixth tier of English football, four points above the play-off spots with eight league matches remaining for Alun Armstrong's side.
