Muto headed home Los Armeros’ opening goal against Las Rozas, who were only promoted to Spain’s Segunda División B for the first time in their history in 2019. Quique quickly added a second for Eibar and the visitors looked to be cruising when former Real Madrid winger Pedro León made it three with 20 minutes left to play.
Incredibly, though, Las Rozas staged a stunning comeback during the latter stages, with Mario Losada, Franco Ramos Mingo and Augusto Galván all finding the net within six minutes of one another. In the end, it took an extra-time winner from skipper Sergi Enrich to settle the game in Eibar’s favour.
Japanese forward Muto has made 14 appearances for Eibar since his loan switch last summer. The 28-year-old’s last appearance for Newcastle came against Manchester City in July.
