On-loan defender Stuart Findlay scored his first career goal as Kilmarnock won at the weekend

The defender scored a header after just nine minutes, picking up a knock in the process, but he was able to continue and help Killie see out the win.

While not a goal of the season contender, it proved an important breakthrough to help Kilmarnock bounce back after last week’s disappointing 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen.

Midfielder Alex Gilliead played the full game as his Bradford City side were able to defeat Plymouth 3-1 and advance to the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Striker Adam Armstrong came off the bench on the hour mark to help see Bolton through to a 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Barnsley, where he spent last season on loan.

Elsewhere, Ivan Toney was unable to help Wigan defeat National League side AFC Flyde, replacing goal scorer Will Grigg late on in the game, and keeper Matz Sels helped Anderlecht beat Lokeren 2-1.

Callum Williams was back in the Gateshead squad after recovering from injury, but was an unused substitute as the Heed lost 5-0 to Luton in the Emirates FA Cup, while Achraf Lazaar missed Benevento’s dramatic 2-2 against AC Milan - where their last-gasp equaliser was scored by goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli to earn them a first point of the season.
