Jacob Murphy was in the thick of the action for Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, scoring at both ends as his side drew 3-3 at Birmingham City.

The Newcastle United winger, who is on loan at Hillsborough until the end of the season, inadvertently gave the hosts the lead at St. Andrew’s after turning Jeremie Bela’s corner into his own net.

Lukas Jutkiewicz made it two before Fernando Forestieri pulled one back from the spot for the Owls, and with 25 minutes remaining Murphy atoned for his own goal with a thumping finish at the right end to put Wednesday ahead for the first time.

But Scott Hogan’s last-gasp leveller earned the Blues a point, with 25-year-old Murphy playing the full 90 minutes in the Championship clash.

Freddie Woodman was also in action in the second tier, helping Swansea City earn a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the Liberty Stadium.

And in League One, Dan Barlaser played an important role in Rotherham United’s 2-1 win over his former club Accrington Stanley.

With 25 minutes remaining at the Wham Stadium, midfielder Barlaser’s corner was nodded down by Michael Ihiekwe for Freddie Ladapo to put Paul Warne’s men in front.

Jordan Clark produced a quickfire leveller for Stanley, but in the 91st minute Barlaser was at the heart of the game’s defining moment. His cross was headed in by Ben Wiles to win it for the Millers, who are top of League One.

Elsewhere, Kelland Watts played 86 minutes of Mansfield Town’s 1-0 home defeat to Cheltenham Town in League Two, while Rolando Aarons featured for 77 minutes in Motherwell’s goalless draw with Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.

And further afield, Achraf Lazaar’s Cosenza were beaten 2-0 by Frosinone in Serie B on Friday night, with the Moroccan full back playing the full 90 minutes.
