Fellow Magpie Adam Armstrong made a 69th-minute substitute appearance in Bolton Wanderers’ 1-1 draw at Millwall in the Championship, as Felipe Morais’ strike earned the Trotters a point.

In the National League, Callum Williams continued his fine start to life on loan at Gateshead, playing 90 minutes and setting up a goal in their 3-0 win at home to Torquay United.

Full back Williams’ cross led to the Heed’s first, an own goal from Ryan Higgins, as Neil Aspin’s men moved up to third.

And in Belgium, goalkeeper Matz Sels couldn’t prevent Anderlecht from suffering a first defeat of the season, as they went down 2-0 at Sporting Charleroi on Sunday.

Sels, 25, played the full 90 minutes at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
