Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has included full back Lewis in his squad to face Switzerland and Bulgaria, while centre half Schär has been named in the Swiss squad for their games against Baraclough’s side and Lithuania.
Switzerland welcome Northern Ireland to Geneva on Saturday, 9th October (kick-off 7:45pm BST), with crucial points at stake in Group C.
Lewis’s side could draw level on points with Schär’s team with a win at the Stade de Geneve, with both sides having played four matches and the Rossocrociati sitting on eight points – one of which came from the 0-0 draw between the two sides in Belfast in September.
Northern Ireland then face Bulgaria on Tuesday, 12th October, with that game at Sofia’s Natsionalen Stadion Vasil Levski set to kick off at 7:45pm, while Schär will travel to Vilnius to face Lithuania on the same day for another 7:45pm kick-off at the LFF Stadion.
Schär is one of the most-capped players in the Magpies’ squad with 65 appearances, while former Norwich City full back Lewis has 23 caps.
