Robert Jones will referee Newcastle United's Premier League game against Manchester United this weekend

Saturday 2nd DecemberNewcastle United vs Manchester UnitedSt. James' ParkKick-off 8pm GMT

An EFL referee since 2016, Jones' rise has been swift and he began officiating in the top flight just three years later.

The 36-year-old has already taken charge of two games involving the Magpies so far this season and interestingly, both of those matches also involved Manchester-based clubs. He was the man in the middle for City's 1-0 Premier League win over Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium in August, and also the 3-0 victory over United in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford last month.

Jones is also a FIFA-listed international referee, and has officiated in the Europa Conference League, EURO 2024 qualifiers and international friendlies already this term.
