The 20-year-old, brother of Lewis, enjoyed a fine month after starting all three of United's Premier League 2 fixtures, producing three assists in the process.
The Stanley-born youngster's positive displays have earned him a place on the eight-man shortlist, chosen by the Premier League Football Development panel after club coaches nominated the best performances by opposing players in each league fixture, for the award.
Miley, who made his first-team debut for his boyhood club during a pre-season friendly against Gateshead in July 2023, sustained a lateral collateral injury (LCL) in October, sidelining the central midfielder for five months but will be aiming to continue his bright form when Newcastle's second-string host West Bromwich Albion on Friday evening.
Nominated alongside Miley are Sam Amo-Ameyaw of Southampton, Middlesbrough's Sonny Finch, Harrison Jones of Sunderland, Liverpool's Fabian Mrozek, Adrion Pajaziti of Fulham, Leicester City's Silko Thomas and Dylan Williams of Chelsea.
The winner, also chosen by the Premier League Football Development panel, will be announced next week.
