The Australian could be part of the young Magpies side who take on West Bromwich Albion at Whitley Park on Monday afternoon (1pm kick-off).
Good's game time has been limited during the past few seasons because of injuries, but this term, the one-cap senior international has made five starts for Peter Beardsley's Magpies second string.
And the former Bradford City and Dundee United loanee says that now he's back to fitness, he's determined to take his chance to prove himself.
"The last couple of years have been stop and start, but I've stopped thinking about it now, which is important. Confidence is high with my body at the moment, and I haven't had that in a few years," Good told nufc.co.uk.
"There was a stage when I didn't think I'd ever stop thinking about it, but I did, so it's credit to the people who have worked with me to fix the problem.
"This is the best I've felt in the last two and a half years. I think I put five or six games together in a short space of time, and I hadn't done that since I was about 20. I feel great.
"I've got to prove to myself and other people that I can play week-in, week-out without any issues. I just want to keep playing and enjoy it as well, because you realise how much you miss it when you don't have it. It's great to get the opportunity to play again."
West Brom arrive on Tyneside having won three of their last five games in Premier League 2 Division Two.
But Newcastle are on something of a roll themselves, having won their last three games in all competitions.
And Good says that, with the young side now beginning to find some consistency, there is enough depth and quality in the squad for the good run to continue.
"We've won three in a row, and they were big wins for us as well, so to carry on that form would be great," he said. "A lot of the boys, especially the younger ones, have got a bit of confidence now so to carry that on would be good.
"With us in the past, we'd win a couple and then lose on, so it would be good to build on these results.
"Consistency is a big word, especially in this league. We've been a bit up and down, but we're fine again now. Everyone's used to what we're trying to do, and everyone understands what we're trying to do which is credit to the coaches. We've just got to keep doing what we're doing.
"A few of the younger boys have been brought up, and they've done really well. We've been stretched early on this season, but we've proved that no matter who steps in, everyone can step up the plate. That's important."
