Ryan Fraser scored his second goal in three days as Scotland thrashed Faroe Islands in their 2022 World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night.

The Newcastle United winger started for Steve Clarke's side in the Group F clash at Hampden Park, netting the Tartan Army's fourth goal of the evening following John McGinn's brace and Ché Adams' first goal at international level.

The 27-year-old completed the rout with a far post header from Andy Robertson's impressive cross, registering his third goal in three successive international appearances, before the former Bournemouth man was replaced by Sheffield Wednesday's Liam Palmer in the 79th minute.

Elsewhere, Jamal Lewis played the full 90 minutes of Northern Ireland's World Cup European qualifier against Bulgaria as the Green and White Army were held to a goalless draw at Windsor Park in Group C.

Full-back Emil Krafth also kept a clean sheet during Sweden's 1-0 friendly victory against Estonia in Stockholm.

Jeff Hendrick was also in friendly action as Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 against 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar in Hungary as James McClean's early opener was cancelled out by Mohammed Muntari's second-half strike.

Hendrick was replaced by Preston North End's Alan Browne with six minutes remaining. Ciaran Clark was an unused substitute for Stephen Kenny's side, who had suffered qualifying defeats against Serbia and Luxembourg prior to the friendly clash.

Goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka missed Slovakia's 2-1 qualifying win against Russia on Tuesday evening as the 32-year-old shot-stopper continued his recovery from illness after also sitting out his country's 2-2 draw against Malta last weekend.
