News. Five fixtures selected for live TV coverage

Five of Newcastle United's first seven Premier League fixtures have been rescheduled after being selected for live television coverage on Sky Sports, it has been announced.

The Magpies' opening-day clash with Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park, was initially set for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, 12th August, but will has now been put back a day and will be played on Sunday, 13th August, kicking off at 1.30pm.

The following weekend's trip to Huddersfield Town, originally a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, 19th August, will also now be shown live on Sky Sports, with that game now scheduled for a 1.30pm kick-off at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday, 20th August.

September's away game at Swansea City, which was due to take place on Saturday, 9th September at 3pm, will now be played on Sunday, 10th September at 4pm in front of the Sky cameras.

The long trip to Brighton & Hove Albion has also been put back a day, and will now be shown live on Sky on Sunday, 24th September, with the game set for a 4pm kick-off.

And the visit of Liverpool - manager Rafa Benitez's old club - has also been rescheduled. The St. James' Park clash with the Reds was due to be played on Saturday, 30th September, but will now be played on Sunday, 1st October, kicking off at 4.30pm.
