The curtain came down on Newcastle United's home campaign on Saturday - although the Magpies still have two huge away games to play before the final whistle blows on 2023/24.

Sean Longstaff's second goal in two games on the stroke of half time cancelled out Joël Veltman's opener for Brighton & Hove Albion, but Eddie Howe's side had to settle for a point.

However, the Magpies remain firmly in the hunt for European football and the final home game of the term offered an opportunity to reflect on some of the memorable matches at the stadium over the last few months, including the never-to-be-forgotten win over Paris Saint-Germain and sensational successes against Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

As well as paying tribute to the current squad - who were given a strong reception from all four stands as they embarked upon the traditional lap of appreciation after the game - there was also an opportunity for supporters to cheer former players Jonás Gutiérrez and Papiss Cissé, who were introduced to the crowd at half time, while Micky Quinn and Newcastle United Women midfielder Georgia Gibson were also speakers in hospitality.

Newcastle travel to Manchester United in midweek, then to Brentford on the final day before embarking on a post-season trip to Australia where they'll face Tottenham Hotspur and the A-League All Stars in Melbourne.
