Joe Willock takes centre stage for Wednesday night’s issue of UNITED – the Magpies’ official matchday programme – as Eddie Howe’s side take on Everton at St. James’ Park.

In a candid interview, Willock reflects on a bright start to the new season after a challenging, at times, 2021/22 campaign – his first full one on Tyneside.

Sky Sports presenter Pete Graves provides his latest column, while United Backstage, the feature in which we shine a light on some of those working behind the scenes at the club, continues with a look at Under-18s performance analyst Matthew Hutchinson.

In-form attacker Miguel Almirón is the latest to dip his hand into The Toon Tombola, discussing camping, the Paraguayan tourist trade and Harry Potter movies. Young midfielder Jamie Miley provides this week’s Academy Diary, while Daisy Burt – whose dad, David, was once on the books at St. James’ Park – reflects on Newcastle United Women’s campaign so far.

As always, club historian Paul Joannou and regular columnist Stan Gate provide four pages each; Paul looks back at Seventies frontman Micky Burns’ scintillating St. James’ debut, with Stan bringing all sorts of black and white insignia back to light in Toon Collectables. Toon Voyage!, meanwhile, a new series looking at some of the most significant geographical locations in United’s history, continues with a look at the early, pre-sporting history of St. James’ Park itself.

Furthermore, there’s ten pages on visitors Everton, three more for Junior Magpies, boss Eddie Howe and skipper Jamaal Lascelles’ thoughts ahead of the game and lots of extra reading material.

UNITED will be on sale around the ground, priced at £3.50.
