Andy Carroll is the player in focus inside Saturday’s official matchday programme as Newcastle United welcome Crystal Palace to St. James’ Park.

The Magpies face the Eagles looking to move back into the top half of the Premier League table, and there is an exclusive interview with forward Carroll inside this weekend’s issue of UNITED.

The 30-year-old, who returned to Newcastle in the summer after eight-and-a-half years away from Tyneside, opens up about his return to fitness, the fine ovation he received on his second Newcastle debut against Brighton in September and his renewed appreciation of what it means to wear the black and white stripes.

Meanwhile, cult hero Brian Kilcline chats to UNITED about his time at the club during the early 1990s, and captain Jamaal Lascelles and head coach Steve Bruce pen their regular column.

There is also tribute to the late Jim Smith, who managed United between 1988 and 1991.

Defender Paul Dummett is the latest player to take on the Toon Tombola, with some random questions thrown his way in the popular feature.

And former Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott is profiled in High Hopes, while Paul Joannou remembers the Magpies’ Edwardian trips to the original Crystal Palace.
