Match officials confirmed for Saturday's game at Selhurst Park

The Doncaster-born official is one of the younger referees in the top flight, having only been promoted to the Select Group just prior to the start of the 2020/21 season, but took charge of three matches involving the Magpies last term.

He was the man in the middle for United's 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion last December and a 2-1 home defeat to the weekend's opponents in February, as well as the 4-2 win at Leicester City in May.

England's first taste of the professional game came in the National League in 2013, and since then he has established himself as a regular in the EFL and, over the past two seasons, the Premier League.

He refereed 26 games in all competitions last term, showing 69 yellow cards and just one red. This season, he has taken charge of three games so far, flashing 15 yellow cards and one red - to Brentford's Shandon Baptiste against Wolves last month.

At Selhurst Park on Saturday, England will be assisted by Nick Hopton and Wade Smith. Craig Pawson is the fourth official while Lee Mason is on Video Assistant Referee duty, with support from Simon Beck.
