Homegrown defender presented with award after reaching milestone

The homegrown defender passed the century mark in December's draw at Watford, having made his league debut at Manchester City in August 2013.

And he was presented with a commemorative award by the Premier League, in association with Cadbury, to mark the achievement.

Since last season, Premier League Milestones have been awarded to players who reach 100 Premier League appearances as well as 200, 300 and every century mark thereafter.

Each player who reaches those milestones receives a presentation box from the Premier League containing a special medallion and a plaque commemorating their achievement.

"When I think I got told at 21 I'd never play in the Premier League, 100 games is a massive achievement," Dummett told nufc.co.uk after making his 100th top flight appearance at Vicarage Road.

"To do that for Newcastle – the team I've supported all my life - makes it even better. Hopefully there's 100 more for me for Newcastle. But it's not just about me and my appearances, it's about the club doing well as a whole, and I just have to carry on going."

In all competitions Dummett, who has been with Newcastle since the age of nine, has made 157 appearances, scoring three goals.
