Yedlin has not figured for the Magpies since July’s 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat against Mainz 05, while Lejeune’s competitive bow – against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the campaign – ended after just half an hour.
Moreno also gave a positive update on Chancel Mbemba, who was forced off the pitch during the Democratic Republic of Congo’s 2-2 draw at home to Tunisia on Monday – a game in which he netted the opening goal.
“Chancel is not too bad. Reading the newspapers, it seems like it was a bad injury. We don’t think so,” Moreno said. “The assessment has been quite good. Definitely, he will miss the (Swansea) game – we can confirm that. But, we don’t think it will be too bad. Hopefully, he will be ready for the next one.
“DeAndre is working very well – he is working hard to get to the game. He has been training fully in the last three or four (sessions), so I think he has a good chance to come to the game. Lejeune, as well. They are both in the same situation. We have to decide tomorrow, because we normally wait until the end to make decisions, but he is progressing well. He’s training fully with the team, and if everything’s fine, hopefully he can be in the squad.”
