Chapman, a product of Newcastle United Women's development squad, has been training with Becky Langley's side for the majority of this season and was named on the bench for the first time in November against Liverpool Women.
The 18-year-old is highly thought of within the ranks at United, having being handed the captain's armband by Courtney Vacher this season for the development side, but coming on for the final few minutes against Nottingham Forest Women on Sunday was a massive step.
"I was pretty nervous when I was about to go on," Chapman admitted, moments after helping United book their spot in the Adobe Women's FA Cup fifth round thanks to a hard-fought win at Kingston Park.
"It's different from the development team games because the match was fast-paced, and especially with it being 1-0, I was delighted to be trusted to go on the pitch."
A versatile player who can play in either defence or midfield. Chapman has been biding her time in Vacher's side, picking up the Manager's Player of the Year award last season.
That hasn't gone unnoticed by Langley, who turned to the teenager in the 85th minute.
"It was amazing; I've been a Newcastle United fan since I was born," added Chapman. "I was born and raised in a very Geordie household.
"I've got a season ticket for the men's team and go to every home game - although it was worth missing the Bromley game.
"When I got on the pitch, all I wanted to do was work hard for the team."
While Chapman was unable to hide her delight at coming on in the Women's FA Cup, she's fully aware that this is only the beginning.
The Newcastle-born youngster is keen to keep working hard and making more of an impact on the first team moving forward.
"I've been handed a lot of opportunities, like training with the first team most days during the week, which has been great," she added.
"Then, with the Devs, we're doing really well this season in the league, and I've even got a few goals to my name.
"I know that I've now just got to keep working, putting the effort in the gym to get stronger and faster, and then hopefully there's more to come this season."
