Newcastle United Women goalkeeper and captain Grace Donnelly looks ahead to Sunday's fixture with Hull City Ladies

That was the response of Newcastle United Women captain Grace Donnelly when asked about the feeling amongst the squad going into the Magpies' upcoming clash with Hull City Ladies on Sunday.

Becky Langley's side have now had two weeks without a game, following the postponement of the away trip to Barnsley Women last weekend, but Donnelly insists the Lasses are eager to get playing and continue working towards their season targets.

"We didn't play last Sunday so it makes us hungrier to get back out there," she told nufc.co.uk. "We are just excited (to have a match).

"There are five games left and we are taking them one game at a time, as we have done for the rest of the season up to this point."

Langley's team have met the Tigresses twice this season already, in the FA Women's National League Division One North and the Vitality Women's FA Cup.

With the two teams winning one each of the previous encounters, the upcoming match is finely poised.

Donnelly expects Hull to provide a stern test for the Magpies, but she is backing her team-mates to apply themselves effectively and come away with a positive result from Marsh Lane.

"We have played Hull twice this season and neither game was easy," she said. “We expect physicality and a group of girls who fight for one another."

The FA Women's National League Division One North match against Hull City Ladies kicks off at 2pm (BST) on Sunday, 9th April.
