Eddie Howe's side return to English top-flight action aiming to end a four-game losing streak in the division and this will be the second time Brooks has officiated a fixture involving the Magpies this season.

The Leicestershire official, promoted to the Premier League in 2021 after almost a decade of operating as an assistant, was the man in the middle for United's 2-1 defeat against ten-man Liverpool back in August, sending off Reds captain Virgil van Dijk at St. James' Park as well as handing out three yellow cards, booking Kieran Trippier.

In the 22 games he has officiated so far this term, Brooks has shown a total of 97 yellow cards as well as handing out five red cards, four of which produced in Premier League matches.
