Darren Bond will be the referee for Newcastle United's Carabao Cup third round tie at home to AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm BST).

Eddie Howe's side host the League Two outfit, who knocked out Premier League outfit Ipswich Town via penalties in round two, at St. James' Park and this will be the first game Bond has refereed involving the Magpies.

The Lancashire official made his Premier League debut as a referee in January 2023 during Fulham's 1-0 away win against Leicester City and was an assistant referee during Newcastle's 2-1 home win against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

In the 16 games Bond has officiated across the Premier League, Championship and Carabao Cup so far this term, he has brandished 16 yellow cards and one red.
