Darren Bond will be the man in the middle of Newcastle United's Sky Bet Championship clash with Derby County on Saturday afternoon.

Lancashire referee Bond is set to take charge of the game at St. James' Park, which will be the second Magpies game he has been appointed for this season - after United's 2-0 win over the same opposition at Pride Park back in September.

In 25 games this season, Bond has shown 71 yellow cards and five reds, including on to the Rams' Jacob Butterfield during their 3-0 defeat at Norwich City last month.

Last summer, Bond was included on the Select Group 2 referees list along with 17 other officials who are primarily tasked with refereering second tier fixtures.

He will be assisted on Saturday by Matthew McGrath and Paul Hodskinson, while Darren Handley will be the fourth official.
