Despite having occupied their King Power Stadium for 15 years, there haven’t been many games played between the Foxes and the Magpies at Leicester’s 32,000-capacity ground. In fact, there have been only five in all competitions, with United yet to earn a victory.

Newcastle’s first visit to the King Power came on Boxing Day 2003, when it was still known as the Walkers Stadium. Sir Bobby Robson’s men fell behind when Paul Dickov put the hosts ahead, but Darren Ambrose rescued a point for the Magpies in the 90th minute, nodding home the leveller.

It was just over six years before United’s next visit – a 0-0 Championship draw in January 2010 – and Newcastle went on to suffer a 1-0 FA Cup defeat and a 3-0 Premier League loss there in January and May 2015.

The King Power, too, was the venue for Rafa Benitez’s first game in charge of Newcastle, which went the way of the Foxes thanks to a spectacular Shinji Okazaki strike in front of 1,336 travelling supporters in March 2016.

Over the years, a number of Magpies favourites have plied their trade at Leicester since they made the move from Filbert Street, such as Steve Howey, Nikos Dabizas and Nolberto Solano. United supporters will be hoping they can pick up a first Premier League win at the King Power when they make the journey to the East Midlands on Saturday, 7th April 2018.
