Miguel Almirón has been named in the Paraguay squad for their World Cup qualifying triple-header this month.

La Albirroja face three tough-looking fixtures in October, with a home game against Argentina kicking things off in the South American group on Friday, 8th October. Kick-off is set for midnight BST at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asuncion.

After facing Lionel Messi’s men, Almirón could then feature against Chile on Monday, 11th October, with kick-off in that away game set for 1am BST at Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago de Chile.

And Eduardo Berizzo’s side round off a hectic round of fixtures by heading to La Paz to take on Bolivia at the Estadio Hernando Siles on Thursday, 14th October (kick-off 9pm BST).

Paraguay currently sit sixth in the South American table, with two wins and five draws from their nine outings so far.

Young defender Oisin McEntee, meanwhile, has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming Under-21 European Championship qualifying clashes with Luxembourg and Montenegro.

Jim Crawford’s youngsters face Luxembourg at Tallacht Stadium on Friday, 8th October at 5:15pm BST, before a trip to Podgorica to face hosts Montenegro on Tuesday, 12th October at midnight BST.

McEntee, who is currently on loan at Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton along with fellow Magpie Tom Allan, has played three games for his loan club so far this term.
