The Magpies travel to Lancashire (kick-off 3pm GMT) aiming to secure three successive Premier League victories for the first time since their last trip to Turf Moor, with Newcastle gaining home wins against Watford and Bournemouth folowed by their away triumph against the Clarets in November 2018.
United currently occupy eleventh place in the top-flight after back-to-back league wins against Sheffield United and Southampton and Almirón is determined to maintain their positive run, with Steve Bruce's side sitting two points adrift of fifth place.
"We know it's not going to be an easy game," Almirón said. "It'll be tough going there and we know they are a difficult opponent with a strong squad of players. We have to try and impose our own style of play and what we have been managing to do of late.
"It is a good opportunity for us and it would be great if we can start to consolidate our position in the table and get even higher with a good result.
"I think that certain games we have not had enough touches or as much possession of the ball as maybe we'd like but you kind of judge these things in the game situations that you find yourself in. You play things as they come up and as you confront them in game situations.
"It's something that we're aware of that sometimes it suits us better to sit a little bit and invite teams on to try and hit them on the break. It's something we're improving on all the time in terms of possession and it's something that we can keep working at in training. As we do improve results-wise I think we might get more possession in games as the season progresses.
Almirón isn't allowing himself to look ahead too far in the season, with the Paraguayan believing the Magpies must "take things step by step" as they near towards the half way point of their league campaign.
The 25-year-old forward is yet to find the target since joining United in January but admitted his focus is on the overall success of the squad rather than personal achievements.
He added: "We are improving all the time in all areas and it would be great if we were to pick up the three points at the weekend as it would leave us in an ever stronger position in the league and would be excellent for our fans as well.
"The main thing is to keep our focus in the short term, week by week, and make sure we are training hard, playing well and improving.
"I think that I'm very calm and relaxed about the situation and feel that goals tend to come by themselves. Goals will come and I'm more keen than anyone to get on the scoresheet but I think it's more than just goals.
"I'm here to help the team and when you are helping the side and contributing in other areas, I think that's very important too. The main thing at the moment is that the team is winning, we are in good form and there is a good atmosphere feeling around the squad."
