After joining Newcastle United's Academy at the age of 11, Max put pen to paper on his first professional contract with his boyhood club in December 2021.
The highly-rated goalkeeper has trained regularly with United's first-team and featured on the bench for Newcastle's pre-season friendlies against York City and Doncaster Rovers, at the age of 16, during the 2021/22 campaign.
The young shot-stopper has represented England at under-18 level, recording a clean sheet on his debut for the Young Lions in a 3-0 friendly win over Russia in October 2021.
The tall teenager made his under-21s debut for Newcastle's second-string in a Premier League 2 clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers in November 2020 at the age of 16.
He joined Northampton Town on loan for the first half of the 2023/24 campaign, making his professional debut for the Cobblers, before linking up with Chesterfield on loan for the current season.
