Friday's fixture at St. James' Park against Manchester City (kick-off 8pm BST) will be dedicated to United As One - the club's brand identity to link all of its work in the fields of diversity, inclusion and welfare - with a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ community

The club is working with supporters group United With Pride, as well as Northern Pride, to once again celebrate the fantastic diversity of its supporters and the great city the club represents.

Newcastle United is proud of its relationship with United With Pride, who stood alongside the club in the recent four-day boycott by English football of social media as part of a campaign to highlight online hatred and abuse and to seek more support from social media platforms to help eradicate it.

United As One seeks to foster a culture of equality and diversity and the club have been appalled by some of the hateful messages United With Pride have received in the past.

The club is totally committed to doing everything it can to demonstrate that Newcastle United has a zero tolerance approach to homophobic and transphobic behaviour and stand together with the LGBTQ+ community to eliminate it.

In collaboration with both United With Pride and Northern Pride, and with support from some of the Magpies' men and women's first-team players, the club have collated some case studies of its supporters and their experience with football.

Please keep an eye on our social media channels, and those of United With Pride, and show your support - and your commitment to help Newcastle United promote the LGBTQ+ community - by sharing them on your own social media accounts.

Your voice is important and, when all our voices are combined, we can more loudly and clearly demonstrate our commitment as individuals, as a club and as a city that we embrace and support diversity, equality and inclusion for all.
